Jess Clarke - Community Connector
Jess is the Community Connector at Raw Material - She gets out and about in the community, meeting with local people, organisations and health professionals and spreading the word about our programmes.
Jess has always been interested in work that centres people and creativity. She began working with Raw Material during her time studying to become a Music Therapist and immediately became embedded in the Raw community.
As a creative artist and practitioner, Jess has over ten years experience facilitating music workshops with people of various ages, backgrounds and abilities. In 2023 she founded the Mindful Music programme at Raw Material which she continues to facilitate today.
Alongside her role as a Community Connector, Jess spends time playing, creating and performing music including performing as a vocalist in a band that recently toured the USA.
Favourite Raw Moment
“One of my favourite moments has to be when we celebrated 30 years of Raw Material - the building was buzzing with members past and present, friends, trustees and staff. Good vibes, music, food and celebration of the amazing impact Raw has had on so many people.”
Best Live Music Experience
“When I was studying in Texas I managed to catch Erykah Badu performing a three hour set in her hometown of Dallas. She had her original band and played all the classics…it was very fun”
