Our award-winning creative health and wellbeing programme.
Autumn Term: 22nd September - 4th December (Half Term: 27th-31st October)
Since 2012, Raw Material has partnered with the NHS South London and Maudsley Trust to offer participants a variety of avenues for creative expression. Below are various opportunities for creatives over the age of 16 to engage their creativity and receive support for their wellbeing in the process.
A £20 termly membership fee is required.

Guitar Sessions
For ages 16+
Dates: Tuesdays (from 23rd September)
Time: 11 am - 1 pmA chance for beginner and intermediate level guitarists to enhance their technique and skills.
Learn basic chord structures and guitar technique, how to read chord charts and take part in solo and group songs.

Mindful Music
Chill music session
For ages 18+
Dates: Tuesdays (from 23rd September).
Time: 2pm - 4pm
Playing music can be a great way to release emotion, feel relaxed and to connect with other people. The ‘mindful music’ jam sessions are focused on group music making - building grooves, exploring sounds, playing the drums and creating new music in the moment.

The Voice
Vocal session
For ages 16+
Dates: Wednesdays (from 24th September)
Time: 2pm - 4pmLearn how to use your voice as a singer or rapper, getting the most out of your own personal instrument. Everybody has their own unique voice, so why not focus on treating your voice well, learning techniques in how to expand your capacity, and make music together with others.

BeatLab
Music production
For ages 16+
Dates: Tuesdays, from 23rd September
Time: 5.30pm - 7.30pmGet to know all of the ins and outs of audio-producing software BeatLab.
This is a chance for budding engineers and beat makers to learn some early skills in music production:
Sessions will include skills such as:
Exploring loops and importing samples
Understanding notation and composing melodies
Learning how to mix down a track
Understanding timing and rhythm

Vibe Alliance
Band project
For ages 18+
Dates: Thursdays (from 25th September)
Time: 3.30pm - 5.30pmOpen to singers, songwriters, lyricists and live instrumentalists.
Led by music professionals, you will work as a collective with other musicians to write songs, create and perform new music, and recompose popular classics.
You will:
Explore and work in musical genres of your choice.
Elevate your musicianship, performance skills and stage presence.
Enhance your creativity and confidence.
Meet and collaborate with other artists.

DJing
DJ production
For ages 25+
Dates: Thursdays (from 25th September)
Time: 2pm - 4pmA rare chance to learn how to DJ, using Serato software. Learn how to mix tracks from different genres, match different beats per minute and develop skills to perform a live DJ mix.
Members will be offered a portable controller which they can loan for the duration of the course, to practise at home.
Tuesday
Studio Recording sessions
On Tuesdays, we open our studio space to Lambeth residents, students, and low-income individuals. We believe everyone should have access to a professional space for their creative endeavours.
A rare chance to work with one of Raw's experienced sound engineers and record your own tracks.
Participants should come with tracks ready to record and bring any additional instrumental or backup tracks with them on a USB. Participants will leave the session with their recorded track on a USB. No tracks will be saved at the Raw Material studios beyond the recording day.
A reduced rate is available to Lambeth residents, students, and low income persons.
