Emma Dennis-Edwards
Emma Dennis-Edwards is a writer-performer of Jamaican and Trinidadian heritage working across theatre and television. Her work explores identity, migration, and the Black British experience, with a focus on generational storytelling and socially engaged narratives. Her original television drama Consent aired on Channel 4, and her play Not Your Superwoman was the fastest-selling show in Bush Theatre history.
As a Studio South resident at Raw Material, Emma will develop a Young Adult novel inspired by the Windrush generation and sound system culture, set in Brixton, alongside the growth of Applied Scripted Arc (ASA), the creative development company she co-founded to support Global Majority and working-class creatives. The residency will support bold new writing, deepen creative leadership, and embed her work within Raw Material’s dynamic cultural ecosystem.
