Zac Carpenter

Community Connector

Zac is the Community Connector at Raw Material. He is responsible for the outreach and community engagement. Working in collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator, Zac's role spans across the online outreach as well as establishing and developing in-person connections.

Day-to-day, Zac meets new people from youth groups, organisations, charities, healthcare professionals, school staff and many others, creating links between Raw and these key local stakeholders. Whether he is out and about visiting people in the community or on a video call building connections, he always sighposts and cheers on our programmes and facilities at Raw Material.

Zac's background includes 4 years studying Contemporary Music & Production at The BRIT School, 10 years as a self-employed musician, busking on London's Network Rail Scheme, recording and releasing music, organisation of outreach and music events.

Favourite Raw Moment

"My first experience of our amazing End of Term Gig. There was such a positive atmosphere and the way that the community came out to support and cheer on those in our programmes was a beautiful reflection of the family feel that we have at Raw."

Favourite Live Music Experience

"I saw a Gospel/Country artist, called Josiah Queen, at a small venue in London and it was an amazing night of music. I particularly liked when his backing tracks system went down so he played one of his unreleased songs just him on a guitar while his band were fixing it. It was a special moment."
