Studio South

Creative Residency Programme For Bold Emerging Artists

Studio South Creative Residency 2025–2026

Raw Material is launching a new year-long Creative Residency, offering dedicated space, support and visibility for five freelancers working across the arts. Based in our newly refurbished Brixton building, this programme is designed for South London creatives who want to develop their practice while connecting with community.

What’s Included:

Each resident will receive:

  • 2 days per month of co-working space at Raw HQ

  • 5 days per year of rehearsal or creative space (Live Room, Loft, or Studio)

  • £500 bursary to support your practice or a specific project

  • Promotion and platforming through Raw’s digital channels

What we ask

In return, we’re looking for residents who are open to:

  • Sharing aspects of their creative journey online (3 pieces of content across the year)

  • Delivering at least one workshop or session with Raw’s young people or adult community

  • Being an active and positive presence within our building

Who should apply

We welcome applications from Lambeth-based creatives aged 18+ working in any discipline. You might be developing a new body of work, building a project, or establishing your practice. Formal training isn’t required—your lived experience, ideas, and commitment are what matter most.

We particularly encourage applications from artists who are underrepresented in the creative industries, including those from the Global Majority, low-income backgrounds, and deaf or disabled creatives.

How to apply

The process has two stages:

  1. Expression of interest (by 30 September 2025): A short paragraph about you, why this residency appeals, and a link to your work.

  2. Full application (for shortlisted applicants): Share examples of your work, ideas for how you’d use the residency, and a proposal for a workshop or session.

You can apply in writing, or submit a video/audio application if that suits you better.

📅 Residencies begin in January 2026.
