Join us for an immersive 5-week programme designed to help you regulate emotions, release stress, and reconnect with yourself—all through the power of music, movement, and sound healing. Led by Akua, alongside special guest practitioners, Music & Movement is Medicine (MiM) is an experience like no other, blending ancient healing techniques with modern wellness practices.

What to Expect – Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Introduction to MiM & Stress Release

📅 Tuesday, 25th February 2025 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Kick off the journey with an introduction to MiM, Akua’s personal story, and a discussion on stress management. We’ll explore how music and movement can cut through mental chatter and bring us into the present moment. The session will include a guided body-based meditation, followed by an uplifting movement session to curated beats from genres like Afrobeats, Amapiano, house, and drum & bass. DJ AfroLicious Mumma will provide an immersive musical experience to enhance our practice.

Week 2: Sound Healing & Deep Relaxation

📅 Tuesday, 4th March 2025 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Following a MiM movement session, we will dive into the restorative power of sound healing. DJ AfroLicious Mumma will lead a session using singing bowls, guided meditation, and deep relaxation techniques. Sound therapy has been shown to reduce anxiety, balance energy, and improve focus—helping participants enter a meditative state of clarity and release.

Week 3: Vibrations of Peace – The Gong Bath Experience

📅 Tuesday, 11th March 2025 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
A combination of movement and profound sound healing, this session introduces The Gong Mother, Emma Jade, who will guide us through a transformative sound bath experience. Gong therapy is known to calm the nervous system, reduce emotional blockages, and enhance relaxation. This deeply immersive session will help realign your energy and promote inner peace.

Week 4: Moga Yoga & Breathwork

📅 Tuesday, 18th March 2025 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
This session incorporates elements of yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation, accompanied by a live soundscape. We will begin with gentle movements to open the body, followed by dynamic flow sequences to build strength and flexibility. The session will conclude with restorative postures and humming/OM chanting, fostering a deep mind-body connection.

Week 5: MiM Closing Celebration & Dance Party

📅 Tuesday, 25th March 2025 | 6:30 – 8:30 PM
We close our journey with a high-energy MiM session followed by a celebratory dance party with DJ Mighty Moe! This final session will be about joy, expression, and movement, encouraging you to fully embrace your rhythm and release stress in an empowering, supportive space. We’ll wrap up with reflections, feedback, and next steps for continuing your wellness journey.
